The Water of Life
I don't claim to know whisky. In fact, I know very little. And this page is not, I repeat not,
any sort of formal "tasting". It is just impressions.
Also, please note that this is by no means all whiskys I've had. It is the ones that
I have so far written down anything about. More is comming...
Currently on the shelf:
There are
68
labels from
31
distilleries in the house!
Latest additions:
Benromach 25 Years Old,
Talisker Distillers Edition, 1993,
Old Pulteney 12 Years Old.
Name: 33 Years Old
Bottled by: Duncan Taylor & Co Ltd Bottled year: 1969 Age: 33 Years Rumblings:
The owners of Torpshammar seems to have this thing for Duncan Taylor. Which is completely understandable. This is the third and last of their "special"
bottles I had the opportunity to taste spring 2007.
Golden amber. Fruits and sherry (?) in the nose. Vanilly and malt. Palate with nuts and and sweet fruits. Some spices. And
some wood. Lingering salt and fruits. In fact, I almost entirely agree to what DT writes themselves about the whisky here.
Very, very good. Brilliant in fact.
NB: More details on cask number and strength to come.
